MinD goes to the Netherlands

Participants of the MinD project had been hosted by the University of Twente and Zorggroep Sint Maarten in Enschede and Panton in Deventer for the two weeks visit of the 4th secondment between 19.09.2016 and 03.10.2016 in the Netherlands. The first week was devoted to introduce the Dutch institutions to participants and to prepare the data collection phase starting the following week. The design consortium members worked on a general overview of the existing devices and environmental solutions that are available at the moment for people affected by dementia. They also worked on the completion of the visual diaries, which would support the data collection interviews the week after.

The interviews with patients with dementia and caregivers took place from Monday to Wednesday of the second week. The design team moved to Deventer for working on the Info graphics and other design documents at Panton. On Thursday, the team of Panton conducted with the consortium members a design workshop about brainstorming and refining new ideas for the following themes: Delivery of diagnosis, familiar world, changing relationships and acceptance. The ideas that came out from this workshop were very interesting and will be very useful of the following phases of the project.
