Semi-annual update – March to August 2019: Training activities, Events and Co-research

Between March and August 2019, there have been four exchanges, two to Spain, and one to the Netherlands and Luxembourg each. The secondments continued the evaluation phase for the Good Life Kit as well as the further development of the Social Engagement Map and documenting and publishing results of the research project. In addition to that, the researchers worked on the final planning of the MinD conference 2019.

Presentations and training workshops:

Again the research team continues knowledge transfer through a series of presentations and workshop trainings at each secondment.

Co-research & career development:

Visiting researchers worked with, and accompany experienced researchers, designers, IT staff and care professional as part of the design and evaluation tasks to prepare, conduct and analyse the evaluation of the Good Life Kit as well as on further development and publication on the Social Engagement Map.

Public engagement:

Setting up and working with groups of Experts with Experience in Spain for the evaluation and feedback on the designs was instrumental in this phase of the project, and help to improve the designs as well as introduce UK practices regarding PPI working in Spain.

Semi-annual update – September 2019 to February 2020: Training activities, Events and Co-research

Between September 2019 and February 2020, there have been seven exchanges, to Spain, the UK, Germany, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. The secondment in Germany, the International MinD Conference was held, which was organized by the MinD project partners in collaboration with two Special Interest Groups of the DRS and hosted at the Technische Universität Dresden. The remainder of the secondments continued the evaluation phase for the Good Life Kit as well as documenting and publishing results of the research project.

Presentations and training workshops:

There was once again a strong emphasis on knowledge exchange through a series of presentations and training workshops at each secondment.

Co-research & career development:

Visiting researchers worked with, and accompany experienced researchers, designers, IT staff and care professional as part of the evaluation of the Good Life Kit and the Social Engagement Map. Researchers also continued to work together on writing papers.

Through its training and co-research, the MinD project offers also great opportunities for career development to younger researchers: one of the two participating researchers from Germany submitted her PhD thesis to the PhD committee of her faculty.

Public presentations and external training:

Results of the MinD projects were presented to external partners at the International MinD conference, through papers and workshop sessions, and the conference enabled a lively exchange of the latest ideas in the field.

In December 2019, the MinD Results were presented and discussed in a hands-on session with members of the European Working Group of People with Dementia at their annual conference in Brussels as a formal conclusion of the project.
